Contact Improvisation 101

Moving with Trust, Touch & Emergence
4-Week Introductory Series

Contact Improvisation is a playful, intuitive dance form rooted in trust, presence, and embodied connection—with yourself, others, and gravity itself. It’s a formless form that continues to open my heart and move my life in surprising and transformative ways.

Yet for many of us, the idea of spontaneous movement—or coming into physical contact with others—can bring up hesitation. That’s completely natural.

This 4-class series is a gentle, inclusive introduction to the foundational principles of Contact Improvisation. Through guided somatic practices, we’ll explore:

  • How to listen to your body’s yes, no, and maybe
  • Building trust through clear communication and consent
  • The art of weight-sharing and following points of contact
  • Finding ease in movement that emerges moment by moment

You’ll be supported in expanding your comfort zone at your own pace, with plenty of space for reflection, discussion, and integration. After the third class, we’ll hold an open conversation circle to share insights, ask questions, or tend to anything that’s arisen in the practice.

No experience is necessary. Curiosity, openness, and willingness to explore are enough.
You're encouraged (but not required) to attend the full series for the richest experience.

Come as you are—Contact Improvisation welcomes exactly what’s alive in you, right now.

Plants for Trancework

Plants for Trancework

Trancework (shamanism, meditative journey states) is a lost practice in the modern herbal world. Where so many herbalists turn to clinical practices, trancework is integral to accessing a deeper level of healing.

Herbalism has deep historical roots throughout cultures worldwide. Much of the rich history within Celtic tradition has been lost with the colonization of Ireland by the British. Celtic medicine men and women were trained from childhood in the world of herbalism. They knew both the energetic and medicinal properties of herbs and their indications, were trained in anatomy and setting bones, tending to births and deaths, and were known to commune with the spirit world through trancework. These herbal healers tended to the mind, body, and spirit as one full entity.

This workshop will discuss a brief history of herbalism as indigenous medicine, the lost art of trancework and its importance in Celtic herbal practice, the 19th century “White Witch” or herbalist in Ireland known as Biddy Early, and sacred plants & practices used to aid in accessing the otherworld.

Date: Saturday November 8

Time: 4pm-6pm

Cost: $50

*Bring a mug for tea!*

Release the Grief movement Series

Grief is commonly defined as "deep sorrow" and can be related to a number of occurrences such as loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of a relationship/friendship. Grief can also come on due to a disconnection of Self, being out of alignment with your Soul, and the loss of a version of You that you have outgrown or discarded.

We will use breath, movement, and visualizations to move grief out of our physical forms. We begin with a short period of meditation and visualization to tune in to our grief then participate in light breathwork to begin to shift the energy attached to our grief. We will move through a gentle sequence of shapes to shift our grief with the aim to move it out of our bodies. We will end with a period of meditation and visualization.

This container will be held, and lead, with respect and vulnerability. Grief makes us tender and we all experience it in different ways. This workshop is open to all - any type of grief, any level of yoga experience, any person who is wanting to shift the grief within them.
